Watson & Son Manuka Honey Lozenges are made from 91% natural New Zealand Manuka Honey and contain no added sugars.

Watson & Son MGO 400+ Lozenges are manufactured using Manuka Honey containing at least 400 mg/kg of methylglyoxal. The amount of Methylglyoxal (MGO), a naturally occurring compound in Manuka Honey, is measured in milligrams per kilogram.

Manuka honey is made by bees that pollinate the native leptospermum scoparium bush (also known as a tea tree or manuka bush). Since ancient times honey was used to treat multiple conditions. During the late 19th century researchers discovered that honey has natural antibacterial qualities.

Manuka honey’s antibacterial properties are what set it apart from traditional honey. One of the major antibacterial components of Manuka honey is a compound called methylglyoxal (MGO). The higher the concentration of MGO, the stronger the antibacterial effect. Manuka honey has antiviral, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits.

Manuka Honey is graded and certified through independent laboratory testing to ensure it meets the stringent standards required for New Zealand honey. Watson & Son use the MGO (Methylgloxal) and their own MGS (Molan Gold Standard) measurement standards in their Manuka Honey grading - both recognise the unique levels of MGO in each jar of their product, so you can buy with confidence knowing that the readings are accurate.
